Seminar on finance and ethics
Their Royal Highnesses The Crown Prince and Crown Princess attended the Ministry of Finance seminar ”Investing for the future”. The Crown Prince gave the opening speech at the seminar, which has broad international participation.
The object of the seminar is to discuss the challenges of integrating corporate social and environmental considerations when making financial investment decisions – for instance decisions regarding investments made by the Norwegian Pension Fund – Global (previously the Petroleum Fund).
Ought ethical and environmental issues to play a more central part when possible investments are being considered, and what would be the consequences if they were? These are among the issues to be debated during the course of this two-day seminar.
The seminar has been met with broad international interest, and approximately 260 delegates from many different countries are attending. The seminar is organised by the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, together with Norges Bank and the Council on Ethics.
