A Mirror of Nature
On 15 February 2007 Her Majesty The Queen attended the opening of the exhibition entitled “A Mirror of Nature: Nordic Landscape Painting 1840-1910” at the National Gallery in Oslo.
The exhibition centres around the relationship between man and nature, and highlights the important role of landscape painting in Nordic art history.
“A Mirror of Nature” displays over 100 of the most well-known landscape paintings from Norway and the other Nordic countries, and is the result of a cooperative effort over several years between the national galleries in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway.
