This summer, Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit both celebrate their 40th birthdays. A series of portraits has been taken to commemorate the occasion.

The pictures were taken by Photographer Lise Åserud (NTB Scanpix) in June, at the Crown Prince and Crown Princess' home, Skaugum Estate in Asker.
