His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon becomes member of Foundation Board YGL.

Crown Prince Haakon has been an active member of Young Global Leaders (YGL) since 2005. YGL is a public interest, not-for-profit and independent organization of young global leaders from culture, faith, politics, business, academia, media and society at large. The Crown Prince’s term ended in 2010, and he has now become a new member of The Foundation Board of YGL. The Foundation Board is the supreme body of the Foundation.

The Foundation Board

The Foundation Board has the powers to approve the strategies of YGL, to appoint and remove members of the Foundations committees, to nominate the Auditors and to approve the annual report and the annual accounts. Klaus Schwab , the founder of World Economic Forum, is chairman of the Board.

Global Redesign Initiative

Crown Prince Haakon chaired the YGL work group for the Global Redesign Initiative since 2009. This task was concluded with the presentation of the report in Doha, Quatar May 30 2010.

Becoming a member of The Foundation Board is a continuation of The Crown Prince's involvement and commitment to WEF, YGL and GRI.
