I was shocked and saddened by the news of the tragic rail accident near Santiago de Compostela on Wednesday evening, which has taken so many lives.
On behalf of myself and the Norwegian people, I extend my sincere condolences and ask you to convey my deepest sympathy to the bereaved.

The Royal Court’s Annual Report for 2024
In 2024, the members of the Royal House of Norway paid visits to 42 municipalities across Norway, including as part of their extensive county visits to Agder, Rogaland and Trøndelag. Members of the Royal House also carried out a number of official visits abroad, including to Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.
