I was deeply saddened by the news about the terrible earthquake, which struck your country on Saturday 24th April, resulting in the tragic loss of so many lives and causing such widespread damage.
On behalf of the Norwegian people and myself I send you my condolences, and ask you to convey my deepest sympathies to those bereaved and to those otherwise afflicted by this disaster.

The Royal Court’s Annual Report for 2024
In 2024, the members of the Royal House of Norway paid visits to 42 municipalities across Norway, including as part of their extensive county visits to Agder, Rogaland and Trøndelag. Members of the Royal House also carried out a number of official visits abroad, including to Europe, the Americas and the Middle East.
State visit from Iceland
Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja welcomed the President of Iceland, Halla Tómasdóttir, and her husband Björn Skúlason to Norway during a welcome ceremony at the Palace Square today.
