I was deeply saddened by the news of the earthquake on Wednesday 24 August, which struck in the region of Umbria, resulting in the tragic loss of so many lives and causing such widespread damage in Central Italy.
On behalf of myself and the Norwegian people I am sending you my sincere condolences, and ask you to convey my condolences and my deepest sympathy to those bereaved and to others afflicted by this natural disaster.

Happy Constitution Day!
The Royal Family was in attendance on the Palace Balcony when the children's parade reached the Palace Square at 10:30 this morning. From there, they could greet more than 26,000 children from 109 schools taking part in Oslo's children's parade this year.
