"TEXTURE" in Århus
The exhibition “TEXTURE” opened Thursday at Galerie MøllerWitt in Århus. The exhibition comprises graphic art works by Her Majesty The Queen and Magne Furuholmen - both in attendance at the opening.
Since it first opened in Bergen in August just over a year ago, the exhibition has been shown in Trondheim, Ålesund, Bodø, Steinberg and London. Now it will be on show in the second largest city in Denmark. The exhibition will be on display in Århus until 25 November.
All revenues from the exhibitions go to the Queen Sonja Print Award.
Cooperation in support of QSPA
Over the past three years, Queen Sonja and Magne Furuholmen have collaborated on an artistic project in support of the Queen Sonja Print Award.
The Queen is a keen amateur photographer, and most of her artistic production has nature and photography as its starting point. Magne Furuholmen uses text and language as key components of his artwork.

Their collaboration demonstrates the wide range of possibilities that printmaking offers, with photogravure providing the common denominator between the two artists. Both place a clear focus on surface and texture – details in nature, details in sculpture, transformed into new textures through printmaking. Many of the prints are double signed, as the artists have worked together closely and produced pieces combining elements from their respective fields of interest.

Welcoming the Restauration to the US
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon, along with a couple of thousand attendees, welcomed the sloop Restauration to New York, exactly 200 years after the vessel carrying Norwegian emigrants arrived in the United States. In 1825, they crossed the Atlantic in search of a new and better life. This voyage is regarded as the beginning of organised emigration from Norway.

Met with Governor Walz in Minnesota
Minnesota is one of the states in the United States where a large proportion of the population has Norwegian ancestry. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon is therefore also visiting this state and its largest metropolitan area, Minneapolis–Saint Paul, during his trip to the United States to mark the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration to the US.
