I was deeply saddened to learn about the terrible ferry accident on 20 September, near Mwanza on Lake Victoria, causing such tragic loss of life.
On behalf of myself and the Norwegian people I send you my condolences, and ask you to convey my deepest sympathies to those bereaved and to those otherwise afflicted by this tragic event.

Happy Constitution Day!
The Royal Family was in attendance on the Palace Balcony when the children's parade reached the Palace Square at 10:30 this morning. From there, they could greet more than 26,000 children from 109 schools taking part in Oslo's children's parade this year.
