Bungee jump from Victoria Falls Bridge
Last October, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon visited Zambia as a UNDP Goodwill Ambassador. Sustainable tourism is a growth industry in Zambia, and the bungee jump from Victoria Falls Bridge is one of the most famous attractions.
Crown Prince Haakon did the jump with a camera in his hand.
- It was far down and quite scary, but all went well, The Crown Prince stated after the jump.
Ecotourism
Sustainable tourism is a growth industry in Zambia, and there is enormous potential for ecotourism. After a guided tour of Victoria Falls Park, Crown Prince Haakon met with representatives of the Toka-Leya people, who are indigenous to the area surrounding the Falls. Their discussion centred around management of natural resources, distribution, and the integration of social, cultural and economic traditions in a modern Zambia.
UNDP plays a key role in promoting such integration as well as in advancing minorities interests in the shaping of policy and ongoing constitutional amendments.
