Your Excellency,
I was deeply saddened to hear the news of the volcanic eruption at Anak Krakatau and the tsunami that struck the Sunda Strait on Saturday 22 December, yet again causing tragic loss of life and much physical damage and destruction in your country.
On behalf of myself and the Norwegian people I send you my condolences, and ask you to convey my deepest sympathies to those bereaved and to those otherwise afflicted by these tragic events.
