I was saddened to hear about the tragic consequences of the tropical cyclone "Idai" that hit Mozambique, causing so many deaths and such widespread destruction.
On behalf of myself and the people of Norway, I am sending you my deepfelt condolences, and ask you to convey my condolences and my sympathy with those bereaved and those otherwise affected by this natural disaster, and to the people of Mozambique.
The most important room in the world
“The most important room in the world” was a gift to the United Nations from Norway in 1952. On Friday evening, Her Majesty The Queen introduced the digital exhibition on the design of the UN Security Council Chamber.

Today marks 75 years since the day King Haakon returned home after World War II. Hundreds of thousands of Norwegians welcomed the King and the family of the Crown Prince as they came ashore.
