Swiss light art and technology
The Palace was illuminated yesterday by Swiss light artist Gerry Hofstetter, during the gala dinner in honour of President Leuthard and Dr Hausin. This morning, the state visit continued with the opening of a seminar on medical technology.
Their Majesties King Harald and Queen Sonja accompanied President Doris Leuthard and Dr Roland Hausin to Rikshospitalet University Hospital for the opening of the seminar.
The seminar was a cooperative effort between MedTech Switzerland and Oslo Medtech to bring together representatives from the health services and medical technology companies. Both President Leuthard and Minister of Health and Care Services Anne-Grete Strøm-Erichsen participated in the opening, which was followed by a presentation of examples of innovative technology, including in the area of insulin administration and laser surgery.
King Harald, Queen Sonja, President Leuthard and Dr Hausin attended the first half of the seminar. The King then returned to the Royal Palace to hold the Council of State, while the Queen accompanied the Swiss president and her husband to the Nobel Institute.
