Areas of special interest to the Crown Princess

Her Royal Highness The Crown Princess has been involved in national and international efforts related to health, inclusion and opportunities for young people for many years. In particular, she has focused on mental health, women’s health and the fight against HIV/AIDS, and has served as a Special Representative for UNAIDS since April 2006. In her efforts to fight HIV/AIDS, she has been especially concerned with the situation of young people and youth leadership.

The Crown Princess shares her interest in youth with His Royal Highness The Crown Prince, and together they work to establish meeting places where young people can develop their talents and skills.

The Crown Princess is particularly interested in climate and the environment, and she takes a leading role in the environmental activities at the Royal Court. She is concerned about the choices people make in their daily lives, as each individual can take small actions to create a greener future.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit loves to read and is enthusiastic about books. She is eager to share her love of reading and spread good literature. She firmly believes that there is a book for everyone.
