Poland 2005

On 30 May 2005 the Crown Prince and Crown Princess began their official three-day visit to Poland, which included both Warsaw and Krakow.


During their visit, the Royal couple met President Aleksander Kwasniewski and Ms Jolanta Kwasniewskia at the presidential palace, and attended the opening of a Polish–Norwegian forum on tourism, cooperation on food safety and research.


The Crown Prince and Crown Princess also visited the Warsaw University of Technology Business School (WUTBS) and the PSF Women’s Centre Foundation. In Krakow they attended a concert given by the Norwegian singer and song-writer Thomas Dybdahl at Narodowy Stary Teatr.


On the last day of the visit the Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited the Jagellon University, where a number of Norwegian students are studying medicine. They also met with a representative of the human rights organisation Halina Niec and learned about the situation of asylum-seekers and refugees in Poland.
