The Royal Palace
A large part of the Royal Family’s official activities take place at the Royal Palace. Meetings and audiences are held daily, in addition to numerous official dinners, receptions, and other events hosted here.

The Royal Palace is owned by the state and placed at the disposal of the head of state. It serves as the residence of the King and Queen and as a workplace for members of the Royal Family. Most of the staff of the Royal Court also carry out their daily duties here. The Palace is open for guided tours during the summer.
The rooms reflect the various styles that were fashionable during the 25 years it took to build the Palace. Here you will find Pompeian wall paintings in the Great and Daily Dining Rooms, national romanticism in the Bird Room, and emerging Neo-Rococo in the White Salon.
