For the past three days, His Majesty The King has been visiting Queen Maud Land – a Norwegian dependency in the Antarctic. The King is paying a visit to the Troll research station, which is celebrating 10 years of year-round operations.

On Wednesday evening, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon unveiled the countdown clock for the Youth Olympics, which will kick off in Lillehammer in exactly one year – 365 days.

Spoke at the university in Dili

The Queen opened Kunsthall Svalbard
This evening Her Majesty The Queen opened the world’s northernmost art museum, Kunsthall Svalbard, in Longyearbyen. The new museum is a branch of the Northern Norway Art Museum.

Today, His Royal Highness The Crown Prince viewed UNDP projects first-hand, including one that brings clean drinking water to hundreds of families and another in which salt production provides women farmers with a good living.

Introduced the Kjell Nupen Memorial Grant
Today, Her Majesty The Queen and master printer Bill Goldston introduced the Kjell Nupen Memorial Grant, which will be awarded to emerging graphic artists/printmakers from the Nordic countries.

Opened Nordic graphic art exhibition
Tonight, the foundation responsible for the Queen Sonja Print Award opened a graphic art exhibition at the Waldemarsudde estate and art museum in Stockholm. Her Majesty The Queen was present to officially open the exhibition.
