Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel travelled today to Gothenburg, Scandinavia’s largest port. Green mobility was in focus during the last day of the official visit.

An eventful day in Stockholm

Factory visit and ship christening in Porsgrunn
Yara Birkeland is the world’s first autonomous electric container ship. His Royal Highness The Crown Prince celebrated the christening of the unique ship along with its two 12-year-old "godmothers" and 500 other young people on Friday at the port in Brevik, on Norway’s south-eastern coast.

Green transition in Svalbard
The impacts of climate change are evident in Svalbard, and the archipelago is the hub for a great deal of important research activity. Today the Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited the Svalbard Satellite Station, SvalSat, which collects crucial data from around the world, and the Crown Prince visited Norway’s last coal mine.

Her Royal Highness Princess Ingrid Alexandra visited the Storting, the Government and the Supreme Court today. The Princess celebrates her 18th birthday tomorrow, and will attain the age of majority.

Journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov received the Nobel Peace Prize today for their efforts to safeguard freedom of expression in the Philippines and Russia, respectively. This afternoon, the King and Queen of the Netherlands and the King and Queen of Norway visited the Fram Museum in Oslo. On the deck of the polar schooner Fram, they had a chance to talk with eight enthusiastic young people and students from Norway and the Netherlands.

Many survivors returned to Utøya this afternoon along with bereaved family members and others affected by the mass killing that took place there on 22 July 2011. It was a moving commemoration of the events of 10 years ago.

Ten years ago – 22 July 2011 – Norway was struck by the worst terrorist attacks on its soil since World War II. Norwegians have marked the anniversary with a series of events today, starting at 9 this morning outside the Government Office Complex in Oslo.

At 11:30 am the Royal Family came out on the Palace Balcony, and at 12:00 noon the Norwegian national anthem sounded across the Palace Square. This was one of many high points today before the festivities concluded on board the Royal Yacht.

Greeting to the National Maritime Conference
The 12th National Maritime Conference in Rostock, Germany was opened this morning. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon sent a digital greeting to the participants, speaking from an island in the inner Oslo Fjord.

Will continue as UNDP ambassador
His Royal Highness The Crown Prince signed an agreement to continue as Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for another two-year period.
