Business issues, the health of the oceans, young people, entrepreneurship and digital culture. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess covered a wide range of topics in the programme for their second day in Sweden, but the theme of the day was Norwegian-Swedish cooperation.

On Thursday, Her Majesty The Queen opened the Nordic-Sámi art exhibition in the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Art Biennale, the biennial celebration of contemporary art held in Italy.

Every year, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess travel to different places in Norway to visit local communities and the people living there. Today, Their Royal Highnesses arrived in Longyearbyen for a three-day visit to Svalbard.

Journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov received the Nobel Peace Prize today for their efforts to safeguard freedom of expression in the Philippines and Russia, respectively. On the final day of Norway’s official visit to the US, His Royal Highness The Crown Prince laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.

After two days in New York City, HRH Crown Prince Haakon is now in Washington, D.C., for the third day of Norway’s official visit to the US.

The second day of the Crown Prince’s visit to the US and New York City began with a visit to Equinor, where he officially opened Equinor’s new wind power office in Industry City in Brooklyn.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon began a four-day official visit to the US today. The main purpose of the visit is to expand international cooperation and further strengthen the excellent bilateral relations between the US and Norway. 

Their Majesties King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands are conducting a state visit to Norway. Today they travelled to Trondheim to learn more about the vast potential of the oceans and efforts to promote the transition to green energy.

Freedom of expression has a strong position in Norway and the Netherlands, and both countries give priority to efforts to combat hate speech. A group of youth representatives gathered at Oslo’s new main public library for a seminar and debate this morning.

This afternoon, the King and Queen of the Netherlands and the King and Queen of Norway visited the Fram Museum in Oslo. On the deck of the polar schooner Fram, they had a chance to talk with eight enthusiastic young people and students from Norway and the Netherlands.

Many survivors returned to Utøya this afternoon along with bereaved family members and others affected by the mass killing that took place there on 22 July 2011. It was a moving commemoration of the events of 10 years ago.

At 11:30 am the Royal Family came out on the Palace Balcony, and at 12:00 noon the Norwegian national anthem sounded across the Palace Square. This was one of many high points today before the festivities concluded on board the Royal Yacht.

The 12th National Maritime Conference in Rostock, Germany was opened this morning. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon sent a digital greeting to the participants, speaking from an island in the inner Oslo Fjord.
